Sourdough baking
We bake all our products with sourdough.
Sourdough is a living culture whose wild yeasts and lactic acid bacteria ferment the grain used in the dough.
Sourdough gives bread a pleasant texture, mouthfeel, and deeper flavor. The intention of sourdough baking is to make bread in the same way it was made thousands of years ago.
Sourdough products are leavened by natural methods – without industrial yeast. A perfect prebiotic product!

Kakola's bakery is located on the ground floor. We offer high-quality sourdough products. Our selection includes sourdough bread, buns, and croissants.

Our store in the city centre serves customers in Turku Market Hall.
You can find us on the Eerikinkatu side, near the main entrances.
Sourdough delicacies familiar from Kakola are available from Tuesday to Saturday in the city centre!

PIZZA FRIDAY DOUGH RESERVATIONS
Every Friday, we bake pizza dough based on reservations received by email.
The dough is baked on Thursday, so pickup is available on Friday during opening hours.
The pizza dough is sourdough-based and very easy to work with.
We provide tips for making a successful pizza at home when you pick up your order.

Yes, you can buy sourdough starter from us to take home.
We sell both rye and wheat sourdough starter in 50g glass jars.
The sourdough starter is always active and is never stored in the refrigerator.
